Moving up from Atlanta was a big move. Being convinced by John Bange to buy an un-improved A-Frame on the river took nerve. Years of fixin saw the area and bulwark at the top, take shape. A board walk to the first floor helped and finally a metal roof. Elaine made the big jump with a major renovation, with new doors, windows, sheetrock and ceilings in 2004. The stone step project saw the removal of the boardwalk, repurposing it into the storage and boat house on the road. Each step has approximately 600 pounds of stone and concrete, dropping 14 feet with 26 steps. Do the math, 15,600 pounds or eight tons walkway.
The next project will be a dorma, pictured on the left, which will improve the stairs and provide space to re-work the kitchen. The Dream,(everyone has a dream) is to expand the basement studio into a workshop teaching area that can give space for five to six students.
